Actually, I would say that the preferred POSIXish environment on
Windows for compiling GLib/Pango/GTK+ for Win32 is MSYS (and mingw for
the compiler etc), not the full-blown Cygwin. There is much less risk
for confusion when using MSYS. But that is just my personal opinion,
of course.
