I pushed two patches that will make the Quartz backend compile again and fix the implementation of the new window_translate method.  There are still some issues with widgets that do expose but the results do not become visible on the screen (not related to the window_translate method).  I have not yet managed to put my finger on the exact issue, so I need to spend some more time debugging this (during GUADEC is the plan ;).  Perhaps this is a clipping issue somewhere, not sure.
