mark point in a plot using keyboard

Hello everybody!!
i need your help...
i built an X-Y plot using gtk...i added a cursor that with up/down/righ/left
buttons moves throw the plotted points.I'd like that each time i press 'c'
key,the point under my cursor will be marked.
how can i do it??
