Strip down Gtk+ library

Hi, all

Has anyone tried to strip down gtk libraries? Mainly libgtk-x11-*.*
If I am only using certain widgets in gtk, is it possible to remove other 
widgets from the library to save disk space? I am talking about putting gtk+ 
into a PDA, that's why size of library matters a lot.
