how make drawing area sensible to keyboard.

 Assume that i have  entry & a  drawable in a
window,after entering some text into entry, i want to
focus the drawable where i want to draw some pixel in
it,drawing of pixel stops when Enter key is pressed.
my problem is 
1)how to shift the focus onto drawable, or to set
"activate or focus_in event" for drawable.
2)how to set drawable to "key_press event"?
 pls anybody suguest me some ideas.
