I'm thinking it's X11-based.  Why do you need GtkFB?  If you're looking
to do opengl, then you probably have hardware that would run X11 just
fine?  Why not pick a very light window manager and just use X11?  Even
on handheld computer there is a fast and light X server called kdrive
that runs really well.
