16 bit grayscale values -> GtkImage ?

Hello,

        I have a vector of data which is full of 16-bit samples from a
grayscale image. I would like to display this image, but I'm not sure
how to get the data from my vector into a GtkImage.  Could someone
please tell me how to do this?
