I'm not sure I understand your problem fully, but if you wish for your
program to run on Windows as well as Linux (and most Unix flavors), GTK+
is a cross-platform library. GTK+ programs can run on Windows as well as
Unix/Linux. As far as getting your Windows program to run on Linux, you
will almost certainly have to re-write any GUI code. If you choose to
use Java, you will still have to rewrite the GUI components (as well as
the whole program, most likely). Normally GTK+ programming is in C, but
if you wish to use C++ you should read about the gtkmm library.
