gio is lgpl because it is part of gtk+.  It is my understanding that
gvfs uses D-Bus and not gio so it it compatible because of that.

dbus-main is GPL/AFL dual licensed (always look at the COPYING file for
a full description of the license).  What dual licensing says is you can
use the file under either license but under copyright law you may not
modify the notice so if you use it under the AFL others can still use it
under the GPL.  You can however link any AFL compatible license and the
GPL will not apply to the external source.

We have been trying to re-license under MIT Permissive license to make
it easier for some licensing corner cases but hit a roadblock so that
may or may not happen.  If your apps is not compatible with the GPL or
AFL (such as GPL + exception licenses) you can add an AFL exception to
your licenses (provided you have the rights) and use D-Bus under the AFL
license.
