Memory Fragmentation - Weekly Report

Hello,

This is my first weekly report.

You can see my accomplishments on my blog http://asoare-gnome.blogspot.com/

I have also written a little script that takes only valuable information from ms_print's output, but I will upload it later, when I will actually use it.

Unfortunately, the last week I haven't been able to do any work, the exam period has started at my university and it lasts until July 4th, so my activity will be a little lower in this period. This week I can tell you for sure that I won't have time to code, but after that I will have more time, so after June 8th I will resume my work.

For now I am a little stuck, but I'm not asking for any help, because I think I can deal with the problems myself. What are they ?

- the first one is here: http://mail.gnome.org/archives/gnome-love/2008-May/msg00037.html
- as for the second one, I'm trying to modify Valgrind's massif so as to be able to measure allocation lifespan

I have a few ideas on how to solve these problems, but so far couldn't find any time to try them. I have added on my to-do list to lean about threads ( I found nice descriptions in New Riders - Advanced Linux Programming and Wiley - Beginning Linux Programming ).

As far as my relationship with my mentor (Federico Mena-Quintero) goes, I consider myself lucky to work with him ( no offense to the other mentors :P ), he is a really great and knowledgeable man.

I hope this is what you expected from me.

Any feedback is welcome :)
