Not sure.  Looks like some state is confused in the gpilotd client code.
Possibly could be caused if, say, gpilotd-install-file requests had been
left around from a previous (GARGNOME?) version of gnome-pilot.  
I wonder if they occur every time, or disappear after a reboot, or after
restarting gpilotd/capplet/applet.

Another possible cause is the following bug:
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=316370

That issue seems to relate to timezones.  I haven't investigated,
but there is a reported workaround (plus a fix in evolution Head).
