That was because, at the time, I was already using libcdaudio for CD
presence detection, and it made no sense to use both cddb-slave and
libcdaudio. The question is, why doesn't cddb-slave use libcdaudio ?

This way it could support more platforms than it does right now, and act
as a wrapper for both digital playback (GStreamer) and old fashioned
CD->sound card line (libcdaudio).

And now that Jorn has very much taken over RB, it's his call.

I would very much like to see it support video proper. So that I could
port Totem to GStreamer when GStreamer gets more stable/featureful for a
movie player.
