[gnome-love] Testing gnome builds

Hi!

I would like to test gnome builds. Is it possible to run these test builds and
have the normal "stable" gnome installed at the same time? I don't have a 
test computer to install on. Or is vmware the way to go?

I'm sure there are articles coverting the topic.
