a few newbie questions, quick I think

I have installed gnome 99.8 on my RH5.2 system with the 2.2.1 kernel, and am
experiencing newbie glitches.

1) where can I get ginstall, which seems to be required by some packages
(e.g. guitar)

2) To start enlightenment in my .Xclients file, do I just do "exec
enlightenment" or do I need some sort of argument?

3) I can set screen background with the configuration tool, but it's not
remembered - I have to reset it when I logon again.  Is some configuration
file not being saved?

4) A real problem... when I iconify a window, I can't find the icon

5) Can I use xscreensaver 3.06, or should I use 2.54?
