I'm using CVS HEAD as of today, which definitely doesn't fix it for me.

Right, that's because these modules having been fixed as per
GnomeGoal#2 (see http://live.gnome.org/GnomeGoals/PoLinguas).
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=337982 has a patch to fix
gnome-session.
