full-screen magnification

After alot of google searches i got more questions than answers :p
I understand that to get fullscreen magnification, i need two
"framebuffers".How do i find out if the graphic card support two frame
buffers? Or wich card to get if i have to use two graphic crards? Or can
i use some of my computers memmory as a buffer? 

Someone know about some documentation that explains how to do some of
this stuff? I really want to get this to work :)
