Re: [gdm-list] big problem

Gianmarco:

While I was using firefox, gdm is restarted. So I look system monitor and I see that trackerd was using 70% of cpu. I don't know if hte problem is caused by firefox or tracker, what do you think?

I have no idea. Perhaps some program caused the Xserver to crash?
You could check your Xorg log files in /var/log and see if there is
anything suspicious. You might also check in your
$HOME/.xsession-errors file to see if there are any useful error
messages there.

However, the $HOME/.xsession-errors file gets overwritten each time you log in, so you should check it immediately after the problem happens.
To avoid rewriting the file, you should log into Failsafe or as a
different user (such as root) to check the file after such a problem.

At any rate, it is very unlikely that this is a GDM problem. If you
find it is a problem with firefox, tracker, or the Xserver, you should
follow up with the forums associated with those projects to track down
further what the problem might be.
