Thank you for this. A software keyboard is indeed a very general solution, even for non-bluetooth related problems.
From a purely bluetooth-only point of view generating a bluetooth pin and displaying it would be sufficient (and maybe a little quicker/easier), but a software keyboard would definitely allow one to log in and use the regular gnome bluetooth software to set things up.
