The practice of quoting appropriately has nothing to do with
Evolution.
You'll see it to a greater or lesser degree in pretty much every
other
Internet mailing list independently of which mail client is being
used.

Andre, Milan, you do a wonderful thing for which I have been very
grateful for your advice in the past.

But I do wonder if this continual exhortation around not top posting,
lecturers on email etiquette and other misdemeanours is unhelpful and
unfriendly at best to those who come here for support.

Several of us are moderators of this list. As such, it's part of our
function to encourage people to keep to the accepted standards and
practices. The only way to do that, other than outright banning which
we really don't want to do, is with the occasional reminder, which is
most often used for people who may be new to the list and unfamiliar
with those practices. I make no apology for this.
