Do you mean categories, which can be assigned to events? If so, then
yes.

Do you mean a "group" for calendars on the left of the Calendar view,
like the On This Computer, On The Web, and so on are there? If so, then
no. Or at least not directly. You can create a collection account
(Edit-Accounts->Add->Collection Account), which can gather CalDAV
calendars from a server, and this collection account will look like a
new "group" on the left in the Calendar view. Custom groups, say
something like "Favorite Calendars", are not possible.

Out of interest, what would be the use case for it for you, please?
