[Evolution] Problem sending mail using Evolution and gmail.

I believe I have solved the receiving mail problem, thanks to the help
from this list, but I cannot send.  I am using (in preferences as server
info):

        mail.gmail.com:587

The error I get is:

        Could not connect to mail.gmail.com:  No route to host.

I am still very much a novice at this!
