Probably a bug with evolution/fc5 . I am using Evolution version 2.10.
This works fine for me . Try view->Show Hidden messages , and view->
uncheck deleted messages. Click on a alternate folder, and jump back.
Check the status bar for "generating ... " . Once done, check back the
folder .
