My impression is that webcal is a read-only protocol - it's basically
just a monolithic file containing iCal entries and as such does not lend
itself well to continual re-writing. The writeable calendars are either
WebDAV based (in which case you 'publish' the calendar, it's not an
automatic instantaneous update when you change something) or CalDAV
(which is a true writeable calendaring protocol).
