hi joep,

Andre,
Thanks. your reply reminded me of that quirck. However, the strange
thing is that the FC5 package manager tells me that aspell-0.60 is
installed but the dictionaries are for 0.50 (en and nl) but the
en-dictionary 0.50 is working correctly!.I'll try to install aspell-050

Continuing:
When I do an rpm -e --allmatches aspell (as I have a duplicate package
and I want to install aspell-50) the error return is:
..
aspell >= 12:0.60 is needed by (installed) aspell-en-6.0-2.x86_64
aspell >= 12:0.60 is needed by (installed) aspell-nl-0.50-8.2.x86_64
so apparently 0.60 could read a 0.50 language system(?).
aspell-50 is not available for FC5 (but for FC4). I think Fedora has
made a mess of it.
Does anybody know how to read 0.50 language files with aspell 0.60?
I looked in the gnome configuration editor at location
(/GNOME/Spell/known_languages) and saw 3 languages (languages0 14,
laguages1 16, etc) and a languages value of 3. If I make that 4 I get in
Evolution "Breton" as languages but not "Dutch".
By the way,the duplicate packages I get is IMHO also a serious bug in
the Fedora updater but that's for another forum.
