if labels are combined with colours, this is not possible - you can only show one color per line in the message list window (and i don't want rainbow coloured message list lines in evo! ;-)

hmm...i never tested anything like that. i assume it is only possible to change the label name (according to jeff's answer on bug 60518), but not to add new labels?

there once was scoring in evolution (e.g. bug 1092), but it's so long ago that i am more than sure this is about spam.
By cleaning up the label so they become more dynamical, and more ortogonal, then evolution will become the unbeatable local mail handler as gmail is on the web.
i dunno gmail, but cleaning the whole color/label thing up for 2.2 would really be great, because at the moment it's nearly useless to me! i cannot remove colours, so i just don't set them, but this obviously isn't good. :-) since i was planning to enter a meta tracking bug for colouring/ labelling (but am very busy for the next time), i'll post the bugs i've colected regarding this issue (surely there are more out there in bugzilla, and they dups have to be marked before building the dependencies for the meta bug). feel free to open the meta bug yourself (and let me know), or i'll inform you/the list if i have set up this. my list of bugs regarding labelling and colouring: 30978 41477 resetting the message color. 48863 Filters aren't able to change labels 36352 Add Actions: clear follow up, labels; feature requests: - 42032 color labels not read from or stored to imap message store - 51932 Flag/Colorize email recipients by domain - 46530 Rules editor lacks "label is (not) 'None' " - 31178 Filters should allow labeling emails with configured labels note: 46258 is not a tracking bug for this kind of labels! comments? cheers, andre -- mailto:ak-47 gmx net | failed! http://www.iomc.de
