Please don't do this.  The "-- " is a flag that many clients (mail and
newsreaders) use to strip sigs from replies.  The fact that Outhouse
does it wrong can be seen in the many mangled replies seen on so many
newsgroups and mailing lists.  Outhouse also effs up the quoting on
replies, but no one seems to request that feature.
