[Evolution] controlling the width of non-HTML linebreaks in composer

re, all.

If I compose an e-mail in non-HTML format, such as this one, the
composer widget puts soft line-breaks (i.e. it doesn't put '\n' in, but
it just displays it as linebreaks) at the 40th character. This is
SUPREMELY annoying. It happened in 1.4.4 and 1.4.5 on both my Mandrake
9.2 and my SuSE 9.0 machines.

As I said, when I hit send and then look at what the e-mail looks like
after being sent, it doesn't look wrong. It's just when I'm editing the
e-mail that this occurs. I can create a screenshot if need be....

Is there a way to fix this?

Where is the bug (what component)?

TIA.
