Re: [Evolution] Non-English (Greek) characters in message headers.

Guenther, thanks very much for the answer.

However, the configuration, that you are suggesting, does not apply to
the headers of the messages. This is also obvious from Mark's posting
(back in March, 17th).

Mark's hint (to use the gtk-theme configuration applet) was correct and,
since he posted it, I have succesffully applied it in various Linux
distributions. The problem with Red Hat "Psyche" (Ver.8.0) is that its
gtk-theme configuration applet does not allow the user to select his/her
own custom font for the gtk theme.

Panos,

Mark, thanks very much for the correct hint. I have applied your advice
on various systems at work & at home and it worked as wanted.

I also found out that the Gtk theme configuration applet in Red Hat
Linux 8.0 ("Psyche") does not allow me to configure the font (there is
neither any "custom font" checkbox nor any font selection button).

Would you or anybody else happen to know how I can configure a custom,
iso8859-7 based font in this particular case?

To change the fonts (and charsets) for Evolution 1.2.x check
Tools / Settings / Font Preferences / On Screen Fonts

Variable-witdh is used for variable-width fonts (guessed that) in mail
bodies and message headers, the fixed-width font will apply to the
bodies.

Make sure to have both set to a 'Font Style' under the ISO-8859-7
sections, if the chosen Font does support it. HTH
