run and build issues on solaris (was Re: [Evolution] further build issues on solaris)

Hi, two issues, one old one new:

First, the new. I've got evolution (0.15) built, but i have the same
issue as another correspondent:-
$ evolution

evolution-shell-WARNING **: Cannot access Bonobo/ConfigDatabase on
wombat: (IDL:OAF/GeneralError:1.0)

FYI:

$ echo $PATH
[snip much]/opt/gnome-1.4/bin
$ echo $LD_LIBRARY_PATH
/usr/local/lib:/usr/openwin/lib:/usr/local/gnome-1.4/lib

any ideas why?
second, old issue:
--- Dan Winship <danw ximian com> wrote:
then i hit a problem with lex not liking a -P flag or something...

Hm. Where is this? If we depend on flex, the configure script
shouldn't
let you use plain lex...

removing the symlink from lex to flex, removing config.cache and a
'make clean' followed by ' ./configure
--with-db3=/usr/local/BerkeleyDB.3.1 --prefix=/opt/gnome-1.4
--sysconfdir=/opt/gnome-1.4/etc --localstatedir=/opt/gnome-1.4/var
--with-gnome-libs=/opt/gnome-1.4/lib --disable-gtk-test '
results in a configure with no errors, but the subsequent make fails at
a /different/ point (not due to flex this time). Clearly i can't repeat
the error so the cause might not be flex/lex. The error now is:

/usr/local/i386-pc-solaris2.8/bin/ld: cannot find -lintl
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make[4]: *** [evolution-calendar] Error 1

hope this is of some use to you. if i can get the build to break as
before i'll let you know . . .

thanks
