[Evolution] Evolution Source/RPM conflicts

Hi all,

With some help from a couple of people on this list (thanks!), I got Evolution 
installed from source yesterday. Today, I downloaded Red Carpet and used that 
to get the Evolution snapshot RPM. However, now when evolution starts I get
lots of messages like
evolution-shell-WARNING **: e_folder_type_registry_get_icon_for_type() -- Unknown type `mail'

I did a net search and people are saying that this is an installation issue,
so I'm assuming there's some conflict between my source installation and
the Red Carpet RPM installation. I'd love to use Red Carpet to get the
nightly snapshots; how can I safely remove the stuff installed by the
tarballs I downloaded?
