[Evolution] compiling error - libxml not found

dear folks

when i started to compile the ORBit..*, oaf..*, gome-vfs, bonobo etc. 
packages, the process always run till end and with the message "Input file 
/usr/lib/libxml not found" 
but i have already compiled and installed it previousely
where's the mistake? 
is it useful to leave the gnome-xml package of the helixcode gnome and not to 
install the libxml?
i would greatly regard some announcment about it.
