[Evolution] evo beta 2 can't get my local mail...

if i set it to '...spool format...' it tells me '...\n spool stores do not have an inbox' - however, if i set it to 'standard unix mailbox file' it tells me '...\n could not lock '/var/spool/mail/mattt'.

any takers?
