sorry for this weird looking reply but i can't hit return as we all
know.  to chap that replied about fix for evo's return bug...good going
but I can't apply it due to my installation is rpm based....just dont
have the time to mess with it....anyway i'm glad you got it going...i'll

nothing to do with subject i lost it when i hit delete and ..either its
a focus thing with my  wm or evo bug i don't recall whateva...

the
patch actually just lets you run any command on the system as a filter
action. i'm using
"/usr/bin/play /home/nall/sounds/newmail.wav" as my command, and
evolution is playing sound as i get mail with no problems. i've no idea
if the ximian guys will accept the patch, though.

Meanwhile playing a user-defineable sound (even if you had to hack the
config file to specify the exact sound file for now) is pretty important
to me.

manual download, so I get audio notification, but the applet seems

filter action, so i can play different (user-defined) sounds based on my
