If I supply the wrong passphrase when signing, I get a warning message
that does not use Swedish characters.
Also the gpg text at the bottom of a signed message replaces Swedish
characters with questions marks.

This will seem dense, but how do I know what charset gpg uses, shouldn't
be latin-1 by default? I haven't changed anything regarding that in the
options file for gpg.
