Re: [Evolution] SSL Options

[Evoluion],

Some time ago I wrote a note to the Evolution mailing list encouraging
the inclusion of in-line support for SSL. Unfortunately, the OpenSSL
code appears under a BSD-style license (which is incompatible with the
GPL). I am unsure about the status of Netscape's SSL code (portions of
Mozilla are being released under GPL).

Mozilla's NSS and S/MIME libraries (which combined provide both SSL v2,
SSL v3, TLS 1.0, along with S/MIME and X.509 capability) are dual
licensed MPL and GPL. This happened before the Mozilla browser/platform
dual licensing occured.

2. Is anyone familiar enough with the Mozilla GPL selection to know if
SSL code is included? If so, can it be reused?

It is. It's under GPL, so it's just a matter of looking through the API
and making everthing talk.

6th century scholar Dionysius Exiguus designated the initial epoch
Anni Domini Nostri Jesu Christi. Gregorian calendar years are counted
from AD 1 despite the belief that Christ was born a few years before
AD 1. By extrapolation we find that the 20th century comprises the
years AD 1901-2000. Therefore, the 21st century will begin with
 1 January 2001 and continue through 31 December 2100.
