[Evolution] Re: Act! 2000 Reverse engineering



Hi Tom,

I think Act uses a standard XBase format with a few slight differences.
Separate tables are kept in separate file (hence the .dbf .adb, hdb etc and the
index files adx hdx etc..)

The only thing I think that is no standard is the note / histories..  Goldmine
needs this ellaborate screen dump procedure to import them.. takes forever.. ;(

I could be incorrect but I had a look into it for my company ages ago..

PS. Just imported most of the Act data into M$ Access (standard dBase 5
format).  the .ddf file is password protected though (looks like it could be
the notes/history table )  The *x files are the index files..
