Are you sure it is a fresh install? In the log you provided I noticed
your kernel is 2.6.30-020630rc2-generic-i686; Ubuntu 9.04 do not ship
with this kernel, as you can see in this page:
http://packages.ubuntu.com/search?suite=default&section=all&arch=any&searchon=names&keywords=linux
The command "uname -a" will provide you further information about the
installed kernel.

This seems a crash. In case of crash Ubuntu should run a programm named
"apport" which ask you to report the crash and will help you to add
valuable information to track the bug down. Please use it.
