Re: Idlelo 6: March 24th - 28th 2014

Hi Walter,

Nice to hear that you're thinking about attending. You should consider contacting the organizers to see if there's an opportunity for you to give a presentation if your plans to attend solidify.

The conference itself, at lest from when I attended in 2010, was a sort of "professional ICT4D" event but they did have a community event one afternoon before the event started. This was open to anyone without cost. I hope that they continue this community event and I hope they try to expand it a bit. I guess any community oriented event is largely dependant on the open source and free software communities that are active in the area. It will be interesting to see how the community event works this time.

During the conference, I spent most of my time running the GNOME booth. I handed out Sugar leaflets which were pretty popular and the Fedora guys had an OLPC which had people glued to it pretty regularly.
