I'm used to seeing a white X on a red background, but it sounds like it
might be Banshee failing to play the song (normally because of Codec
issues).
Can you try running Banshee from the command-line ("banshee" or
"banshee-1", depending on how Mint compiled it) and see what output it
gives when you try to play a song? If that doesn't say much, try
"banshee --debug".
Also, try checking your GStreamer packages and make sure you've got at
least Good and Bad installed.

Hi all,
I have Banshee 2.6.2.installed on Mint 17.3.
Last week this problem started.
When i double click a song in My Music or Play Queue the song is grayed out
and i get a grayed out X next to the song.
This is something ive never had any problem with over the years of using
banshee.
Any suggestions appreciated.
Thanks,
Ghost
