The bug you're referring to is this one :

As explained in the bug, Banshee doesn't store your Last.fm password,
the regular authentication process allows us to avoid that.
But for some reason, the fingerprint API will timeout if you don't
pass it the username and  a hash built from the password as
parameters...
In order to avoid asking for credentials for each run, we need to find
and implement a reliable, secure and cross-platform way to store the
password. Or maybe hope Last.fm fixes their API.
