Please don't. There's no need for this kind of bug discussion (more like promotion), especially both on the bug and the mailing list. Everyone knows this would be an awesome, and has already been reminded by a lot of extraneous comments here and there.

With freeze just around the corner and 1.4 a few weeks away, I just
wanted to remind you of the importance of this feature and, if I
remember correctly, that it was announced as a priority for 1.4

It'd be nice, but I don't think that will happen; it's a rather large new feature to drop in at this stage in the 1.3 cycle.
