I'm amazed by the sound-quality and UI improvement in Banshee-1. But I can't find a way to quickly rescan my library and remove dead items.
Did I miss something? I think I heard that in this release this has
been solved.

Mmm, perhaps this rescan happens every time we start Banshee? If so, what about a menu item to do it manually (as Amarok)?

I don't think so, nor do I think this is solved yet. It's apparently being worked on (see http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=385965, not actually manual in design, but full library synchronization), and apparently Aaron was working on it for 1.2 but since they're releasing that very soon, my guess is that it won't land quite that soon.

There used to be a plugin that would provide a manual way to clean the library of dead tracks: http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=361210. But I'm guessing it doesn't work anymore.
