You're not alone. Check out Joe Shaw's efforts: http://idea.opensuse.org/content/ideas/web-interface-to-banshee-library. (Maybe there's a more official site for this, but this is the best I could find.)

I'm fairly sure (but still just assuming) it will have to be ported over to trunk, so maybe it could be a good project for you. ;)
