Hmmm... that's weird; I just tried running it with --debug on and it looks like they're just mp3 files. I have that codec installed, so it should work I would have thought. I'll try again tonight when I'm at home with an installation that I know works with .mp3 and try again (my work computer doesn't have any music on it to test playback with).

Ok, that's weird. I just tried this on my home system and got the same problem. I've added to the comments on bug #545646 accordingly.
