[Banshee-List] Recording

Hi.
I'm currently trying to build a plugin which does audio recording.
Now I was wondering - it seems like GstTranscoder is the right place to
start - but this one seems to be strictly for file use So what would you
encourage: extending/changing the GstTranscoder so it can use a audiosrc
or implementing a new struct alike GstTranscoder - but special for sound
recording?
