I don't think this would actually have solved the above problem,
since it was possible to blank the from field manually using
delete, which would have caused the same crash regardless of
whether empty identities are allowed by Balsa. IMHO the sanity
checks belong (for the most part) in the sending code, as it is
impractical to put validation code in the identity section
unless we force people to only use identities to fill certain
fields.
