APOP Check Hangs

Hi,
I'm having trouble checking an APOP mailbox. The "Checking" prompt appears,
then balsa halts. The server is qpopper. And the version of balsa is 0.9.3.
I have also downloaded version 0.9.5 rpm, however it has several dependancies.
Could someone please point to the locations to get these packages. I think they
include
gnome-print
aspell
crypto
