Question 3 (I forgot to attach to my previous mail):
are there plans to make a function to print the header of the xml file;
  &xst_xml_print_line ("<?xml version='1.0' encoding='ISO-8859-1' 
standalone='yes'?>");
  &xst_xml_print_line ("<!DOCTYPE packages []>\n");
  &xst_xml_print_line ("<packages>");

The above 3 lines could be replaced by &xst_xml_print_head ("packages")
isn't it?
