Well, actually I was not suggesting anyone to write a toolkit,
Java already has GUI Toolkit - JFC..
As for clean - Java gives you the chance to produce designs and software which
is
much cleaner than anything else you've done in C++/C.
And as for powerfull and fast - If you only write GUI in Java, you do not need
to crunch numbers,
the server does this, all you have to do is display, and Java *IS* fast enough
for this, although
this discussion is gliding off the scope of this mail-list. Anyway, I've done
these in more
than one project and it actually works and works fine..
When all you need to do is draw screens with fields buttons, menus and other
widgets
C++/C has no advantage over java. Now comparing it to BASIC(ally nothing)
is probably an insult to this beautifully designed language, IMHO..
