I don't have the url since I'm not at my linux box right now, but there is
a page which has a good set of tutorials on many aspects of GTK.

I started out messing around with plain Xlib, which I found to be rather
tedious and puzzling. I then moved over to lesstif, which again, was quite
puzzling. Next I went to QT, which seemed rather nice also. Finally, I
moved to GTK, which I like alot. It's easier to use than most libraries,
and has an ever growing user base which functions as a great learning
resource -- everyone helps everyone along. I don't think it would be
difficult at all for a new X programmer to learn GTK at all.

There is one thing I was wondering. What if any restrictions are put on
programs made with GTK? Can they be made commercial without worry? Must
source code be released? I haven't looked at the docs for it yet
concerning copyright'sh stuff, but I don't wish to worry about
misinterpreting them.
